FE UNY Helps MSMEs Improve Online Sales

The Community Services Team (PkM) of UNY, in collaboration with PKK Imogiri, held training and digital marketing assistance on Sunday (29/05). The training is a series of Community Services (PkM) Regional Development under the auspices of the Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) UNY. This activity follows last year's service, where the target for assistance is Independent Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under the auspices of PKK Imogiri Bantul.

This second year Regional Development PkM was held at the Imogiri Village Hall, Bantul, and focused on Optimizing Digital Marketing through Marketplaces. Voettie Wisataone, a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and the service team, said that this program is a form of concern and scientific service for communities affected by Covid-19.

In her speech, Fadilah Hartati, the head of the TP PKK Imogiri Village, welcomed the activity. The Imogiri PKK team provided the venue and equipment facilities, and invited MSME owners who had been trained last year to sell online.

Prof. Dr. Suranto A.W. as the head of the team also said that this follow-up program aims to increase traffic and online sales turnover. So, MSMEs can still rise even though they were previously hit by the pandemic.

Ulfah Hidayati, the first speaker, explained the importance of having a brand in the business. So, assisted by the vocational Office Administration students, MSMEs got an attractive logo design. Then, Voettie Wisataone, the second speaker from the Faculty of Economics, also explained the steps to optimize online stores to increase potential buyers' visits. Mentoring would continue for the next month via online meeting. (ed:ekki)
